Who We Are

Our organization, called “Optimistic Nurses and Midwives’ Ghana (ONAM GH),” is founded on the Christian tradition of the pine tree. The pine tree symbolizes eternal life, hope in the resurrection of Christ, enlightenment, longevity, wisdom, and spiritual renewal. The evergreen nature of the pine tree represents the eternal life offered through faith in Christ. We are committed to upholding Christian values and beliefs in all our endeavors as we believe they are the fundamental principles that Jesus Christ, our personal Lord and Savior, has given us for our organization

Our approach

Our Mission

To help Nurses, Midwives' and other Allied Health Professionals with international opportunities and help the incapacitated persons in the community.

By our mission, we

  • Identify the specific international opportunities that could be made available to nurses and midwives, such as training programs, volunteer opportunities, or job placements.
  • Establish partnerships with healthcare organizations in other countries to provide international work opportunities for nurses and midwives.
Provide training and support for nurses and midwives to prepare them for international work, including cultural awareness and language training.
  • Develop programs and initiatives to support incapacitated persons in the community, such as providing medical equipment, transportation assistance, and personal care services.
  • Determine how the organization could work with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other community organizations to identify and assist incapacitated persons.
  • Determine how the organization could fund its operations, such as through grants, donations, or fundraising events.

Our Vision

To have a world full of benevolent nurses and midwives', who would assist in bringing relief to the poor and needy and having a lot of international experience.

By our vision, we

  • Conduct research and collects data to better understand the needs and challenges faced by nurses and midwives seeking international opportunities, as well as the needs of incapacitated persons in the community.
  • Identify the types of relief that nurses and midwives could bring to the poor and needy, such as providing healthcare services, educating communities about health and wellness, or advocating for policies that promote health equity.
Consider the barriers that may prevent nurses and midwives from providing relief to the poor and needy, such as limited resources, cultural barriers, or political instability.
  • Determine how the organization could work with other stakeholders, such as governments, NGOs, or community organizations, to maximize its impact in bringing relief to the poor and needy.
Determine how the organization could measure its impact in bringing relief to the poor and needy, such as through monitoring and evaluation frameworks or impact assessments.
  • Consider how the organization could raise awareness about the needs of vulnerable populations, such as through social media campaigns or partnering with local media outlets.
